Managing your connections from Linked accounts

Where to find the connection management page and what actions are available.

Written by Pierre-Luc Schaming

From the Linked accounts page, you can restart a sync, grant access to new accounts, or delete a connection. These actions don't do the same thing: this page explains which one to choose.

Where to find this page

On the mobile app: Menu, then Linked accounts.

This is the page to use, not the Portfolio.

The available actions

Open the menu on the row for the institution in question. Three actions are offered.

Sync (or Reconnect) restarts the retrieval of your data. It's the same action either way: the button is called Reconnect when the connection is in error or about to expire, and Sync when it's working normally. This action only refreshes accounts you've already given access to: it cannot make new accounts appear.

Manage connection opens the screen for our partner Powens. This is where you can grant access to additional accounts (savings accounts, brokerage accounts, life insurance, loans) that aren't showing up yet.

Delete removes the connection and all of its history.

Missing accounts: Sync isn't enough

This is the most common source of confusion. If some of your accounts aren't showing up, Sync won't make them appear, because your bank only authorized part of your accounts on the first connection. You need to go through Manage connection to give this second authorization.

Before deleting a connection

Deleting permanently erases the transaction history associated with it. If your goal is to fix a sync error, always prefer reconnecting instead.

Limits based on your plan

With a free account, you can create 2 connections. Each connection counts separately, even when several relate to the same institution: two connections to the same bank already reach the limit. To sync more, upgrade to a paid plan.
