If you've already successfully connected an institution and some accounts are still missing from Finary, it's usually because a second authorization hasn't been given to your bank yet.
Why some accounts are missing
Your bank doesn't authorize all your accounts at once. The first connection usually covers only your checking accounts. Your savings accounts, brokerage accounts, life insurance contracts, and loans require a second authorization, which needs to be given separately.
Until this second authorization is given, these accounts won't appear in Finary. The Sync button won't make them appear either: it only refreshes the accounts you've already given access to.
Authorizing the missing accounts
Open the Linked accounts page. On the mobile app: Menu, then Linked accounts.
On the row for the institution in question, open the menu and choose Manage connection. Note that Sync and Manage connection are not the same thing: only Manage connection lets you add accounts.
You'll land on our partner Powens' screen, which offers three options: Reconnect, Modify accounts and Remove connection. Choose Modify accounts.
The list only shows the accounts already authorized: that's expected, the missing accounts aren't listed there yet. Under the list, at the question Any additional accounts from this institution?, click + Connect more accounts.
Powens will ask for your credentials again, and sometimes for confirmation by SMS or through your bank's app. That's expected: this second authorization is separate from the first.
Select the missing accounts, then click Finish.
The selected accounts appear in Finary within a few minutes.
If the + Connect more accounts button doesn't appear under the list, click Cancel, then choose Reconnect and enter your credentials again, with the same login as your first connection. Powens will have you approve access in your bank's app, then ask for your credentials: that second step is what gives access to the missing accounts. Don't choose Remove connection, which erases the connection and its history.
On a first connection
If you're connecting the institution for the first time, the same step exists but has a different name. At the Additional accounts step, answer the question Do you have any loans or savings accounts at this institution? by clicking + Add more accounts. This way you'll avoid having to come back to it.
Don't add the institution a second time
If you go through Add assets again to add the same bank, you'll create a duplicate connection instead of completing the existing one: your accounts will then appear twice. See Remove duplicate synced accounts.
If the missing accounts still don't appear
Three possible causes:
After Reconnect, the missing accounts still aren't in the Modify accounts list: your bank doesn't yet share this type of account with Powens. Some institutions don't give access to savings accounts, brokerage accounts, or loans.
There's a temporary incident at your bank or at Powens. Try again a few hours later.
The flow gets stuck on mobile. Redoing it from a computer browser resolves some of these blockages.
In any case, contact us from the app and attach a screenshot of the accounts in question from your online banking: we'll follow up directly with Powens.
In the meantime, you can always add these accounts manually via Add assets. See Adding an investment account manually (life insurance, PER, PEA…).
