How does synchronization via Flanks work?

Finary works with Flanks, an aggregator specialized in investment and retirement accounts, to automatically retrieve your portfolio data.

A secure connection

  • You’ll be guided to a secure Flanks interface to authenticate with your wealth manager, broker, or private bank.

  • Your credentials are encrypted during transfer and are never stored by Finary.

  • You can revoke the connection at any time from the Finary app.

What data is synced?

Flanks allows us to retrieve:

  • Securities holdings (stocks, ETFs, bonds…)

  • Portfolio valuations

  • Historical transactions (buy/sell/dividends)

  • Associated currencies

Data is updated regularly, usually once per day. Exact frequency depends on the institution.

Which institutions are supported?

Flanks mainly connects to:

  • Private banks and wealth managers

  • Specialized brokers

  • Life insurance accounts (unit-linked contracts)

You’ll see the full list of available institutions during the connection process in Finary.

What if the connection fails?

Common causes:

  • Password expired or changed → simply reconnect your account.

  • Institution changed their access method → Flanks will adapt.

  • Temporary update delay (some banks refresh data only once per day or less).

Finary monitors these issues automatically and will notify you if action is required.
