How does synchronization via Plaid work?

Finary allows you to connect your bank, savings, and investment accounts through Plaid, a global financial data aggregator.

Security first

  • You are redirected to a secure Plaid interface to select your institution and enter your credentials.

  • Finary does not store your banking credentials. Data access is fully encrypted and secure.

  • You can revoke access at any time from the Finary app or directly via Plaid.

What happens after connecting?

Once your account is linked:

  • Plaid retrieves key account details: name, IBAN, balance, currency, and transaction history.

  • Data is automatically updated according to each institution’s refresh policy (often daily, sometimes real-time).

If synchronization fails (password change, 2FA, etc.), we’ll notify you directly in the app.

Which banks are supported?

Plaid supports:

  • French banks (via PSD2 APIs)

  • International banks and fintechs (Revolut, N26, Wise, etc.)

  • Crypto and investment platforms (Binance, Kraken, Coinbase…)

Coverage evolves constantly. You’ll see the most up-to-date list during the linking process.

Why might synchronization fail?

Possible causes include:

  • Changed login credentials or updated bank security settings.

  • Temporary maintenance by your bank or Plaid.

  • Expired session requiring manual reconnection.

We continuously monitor connection statuses and alert you when action is needed.
