Adding an asset to my wealth

How to add an asset to Finary — by syncing an institution or adding it manually — and the special cases to know.

Written by Pierre-Luc Schaming

Adding your life insurance, your PEA or your apartment to your Finary wealth is straightforward. Here's how.

ℹ️ Looking to add a loan? See Adding a loan to my wealth.

Open the add flow

Click Complete my wealth on the webapp, or + (bottom right) on mobile. It's available from every page of your profile.

There are two ways to find what you want to add:

  • Global search — from the Complete my wealth search bar, type an institution name, an asset name, a reference or an ISIN. Results span every category and are labelled by type (Share, Institution, Watch…), so you can go straight to it.

  • Category search — pick a category first (Stocks & Funds, SCPI, Watches…), then search: it's then limited to that category.

The mobile app follows the same logic.

Sync an institution (recommended)

Search for your institution, then follow the secure authentication steps. Once connected, your data stays up to date automatically — you don't have to record your purchases and sales yourself.

Add an asset manually

If your institution can't be synced yet, or a sync fails, you can add your assets manually.

  1. Pick the category that best matches your asset, then Manual add.

  2. Search for the asset by name or ISIN and select it.

  3. Fill in every field — Name, Quantity (the number of units you hold), Buying price (average cost), and Account. If a field is empty, the asset can't be added.

Choosing or creating the account

For Account, select an account you've already created, or create a new one:

  • Give the account a name (e.g. "PEA Perso")

  • Choose the account type (brokerage account, life insurance, PER, PEA…)

  • Set ownership (held 100% by you, or split with others)

  • Optionally, the institution where it's held

Then continue — your account can now be selected. You can reuse the same account for as many assets as you like.

Special cases

Investment accounts (life insurance, PER, PEA, brokerage account…)

Adding euro funds and unit-linked funds (UC) manually follows its own logic. See Adding an investment account manually.

Watches, precious metals and other valuables

Each type of valuable is added from its own category (e.g. Watches, Precious metals or Other assets). Pick the matching one, then follow the manual add.

💡 Once added manually, remember to edit the asset whenever your position changes (a purchase or a sale). You don't need to refresh its value, though — that's updated automatically from our database.
