The Budget feature was designed to be flexible enough for you to adapt it to your needs. One of the options available to you is choosing which categories you want to display in your budget.
💡 You can also exclude all the transactions of an account or specific transactions.
There are several reasons why you might want to exclude a category:
You consider that a category is not relevant to your budget analysis
One particular category dominates your budget and you want to hide it to give more room to the rest
One particular category concentrates a lot of categorisation errors, distorting your budget
A category groups movements (incoming and outgoing) between your own accounts, creating duplicates in your cashflow analysis.
Exclude a category (Web)
Go to the Budget section of your account
Click on the category filter (on the right above the chart, next to the period selector)
Deselect the categories you want to exclude. This choice is kept in sync between the app and the Web.

💡 Good to know: you cannot have no category selected at all: if no category is ticked, then all categories are taken into account
Exclude a category (App)
Open the Budget tab (at the bottom of the app)
Go to the category filter (top right of the screen)
Deselect the categories you want to exclude.
Tap “Apply” to see them reflected in your budget

Good to know
Not all my categories appear in the list
The filter only lists categories that have at least one transaction assigned to them and included in the analysis. So a custom category you have just created will only appear in the list once you have assigned a first transaction to it.
Hide or delete?
Default categories cannot be deleted: they can only be hidden, as described above. The categories you created yourself can however be edited or deleted.
