See all your holdings, across every account

The Holdings tab, on the web and the mobile app, brings together every holding you own, added up across all your accounts.

Written by Pierre-Luc Schaming

The Holdings tab, on the Portfolio page of the web app and the mobile app, lists everything you own line by line, across every account. A holding you own in several accounts appears only once, with its total: the same Bitcoin on Kraken, Binance and a Ledger is a single line, just like the same ETF held in two different accounts.

⚠️ Availability: the Holdings tab is in beta, on the web and on the mobile app (iOS and Android). It is switched on in waves for people who signed up, who get an email as soon as it is live on their account. To sign up, enter your Finary account email in this form. On mobile, for the best experience, we recommend app version 2.155 or later.

Not to be confused with the Holdings tab of an account, which only lists that account's lines: this one starts from your whole portfolio.

Open the Holdings tab

  1. On mobile, update the app from your store, to version 2.155 or later.

  2. Go to Portfolio.

  3. Select the Holdings tab, next to Assets & liabilities.

Group your holdings

  • On mobile: tap the distribution icon (the pie chart) at the top of the screen, next to the eye. The distribution shows by Holding (the default), Holding type or Currency. The list on the tab itself always stays sorted by holding type.

  • On the web: the distribution panel, next to the chart, offers By holding, By holding type or By currency. In the table, the Group by type switch sorts the rows by holding type. The Compare button in the distribution panel highlights the matching rows in the table.

Filter and search

  • On mobile: the Filter button, above the list, opens a Type section where you can show only some kinds of holdings.

  • On the web: the Holding type filter, above the table, does the same, and the Search field finds a holding by its name, symbol or ISIN.

The types offered are the ones you actually own: with no SCPI in your portfolio, no SCPI filter appears.

Show P&L or the change over the period

  • On mobile: next to the filters, a control switches the figures between P&L, your unrealised gain or loss, and Var. followed by the period, the change over the period you selected.

  • On the web: the table shows both columns side by side, P&L and the period followed by var.

The period is set at the top of the page and applies to the whole page.

Open a holding

Tap or click a line to open its details. You will find:

  • Holding value: the total you own across every account, and how it moved over the period. If no price history is available for this holding, the chart shows No price history. On the web, when the holding sits in at least two accounts, the Standard / Stacked selector splits the curve account by account.

  • Your detailed holdings: each account holding it and the amount in each one. On mobile, tap one to open its details, with a View asset details link to the account concerned. On the web, the table shows each account's Quantity, Unit cost, Cost basis, Value, P&L and the change over the period (var.; for cash, only the Value), and a click opens the account concerned.

  • On mobile, Total cost basis, Total P&L and % of total P&L are shown only when the holding sits in at least two accounts and its buying price is known.

Good to know

  • This tab always shows your Total worth. The choice between total and net worth stays on the Assets & liabilities tab.

  • Grouping by asset class is not available on this tab. For that reading, open the Assets & liabilities tab: on mobile, tap the distribution icon and choose Asset class; on the web, choose By asset class in the distribution panel.

The two readings complement each other: the Holdings tab starts from what you own, the asset view starts from your accounts. See Getting to know the asset view for portfolio navigation and the details of an account or an asset.
