Finary lets you view your wealth from three angles. The selector is available on the webapp (at the top of the Summary and Portfolio pages) and on the mobile app (at the top of your dashboard): click or tap the label of the active view (e.g. "Gross wealth") to switch between:
Gross wealth — Total of your assets, excluding liabilities.
Net wealth — Total of your assets, minus your liabilities.
Financial wealth — Liquid assets, excluding bank accounts.
Gross wealth
Your gross wealth is the sum of your assets. Liabilities (your loans) aren't taken into account. No liabilities? Then your gross wealth equals your net wealth, and we only show that figure.
Examples of assets: life insurance, a savings account, your main residence.
Net wealth
Net wealth comes from general accounting: it's the sum of your assets (what you own) minus the sum of your liabilities (what you owe). We only count the outstanding capital (not interest or insurance). This figure gives you your wealth net of loans.
Examples of liabilities: mortgage, student loan, tax debt, leasing.
ℹ️ Have loans and not sure how to add them? Follow the guide.
Financial wealth
Financial wealth, or liquid net worth, is the set of assets you can mobilize immediately: those you can sell at any time to get the funds back quickly. Illiquid assets like real estate or startups are excluded, as are your bank accounts.
Examples of included assets: PEA, life insurance, savings accounts, crypto.
ℹ️ Bank accounts, startups and real estate are not part of your financial wealth.
